The Law of Attraction in the Thought World by William Walker Atkinson - Segment 8. The Universe is governed by Law - one great Law. Its manifestations are multiform. but viewed from the Ultimate there is but one Law. We speak learnedly of the Law of Gravity, but ignore that equally wonderful manifestation, THE LAW OF ATTRACTION IN THE THOUGHT WORLD.

Great article Neil! The biggest misconception about the law of attraction is people just think all you need to do is visualize and you will get what you want,we all have limiting beliefs which are chains holding us back from manifesting what we want,we’ve gotten these limiting beliefs when we were young from our parents, friends, relatives ,e.g if you’ve always been told by your parents “money doesnt grow on trees” and that becomes a deep rooted limiting belief ,its going to be hard to visualize and attract money into your life unless you get rid of the limiting beliefs, I discovered a method from a blog that showed me how to get rid of any limiting beliefs that you may have and started attracting what i wanted in just a few days ,here's the link if you want to learn how to do the same: instantlawofattraction.com/law-of-attraction-breakthrough/
When Star Trek first came out, people were amazed that in this futuristic series people could step in front of a door and it would sense their presence and open automatically. In the actual filming of the original Star Trek series there was someone behind the panels opening and closing the doors on cue, but today we have the real thing and simply take this as normal and commonplace technology, which in fact was probably hidden from us since the days of Tesla until recently.

You might believe that you can get a new job because you’ve seen others do the same. However, you may not expect to get a job in that you have yet to put a time stamp on the manifestation of it. Truly, God has the best timing, but your real expectations will be relevant to your day to day activities. That may look like you keeping your phone volume up so you can hear it ring when the new job calls. Maybe you print out your new resume in advanced because you want to be prepared for the interview. You might even have picked out your outfit to impress yourself and your new boss.
I also believe that out of nearly 7 billion people on this planet at this particular point and time in history, there is one person alive, living reasonably close to you – or planning to move there soon – who is the best possible match for you.  In other words, out of all the people who exist, there’s one person who is exactly who you’ve been waiting for, and to that person, you are exactly what he/she has waited for, too.
Israel Regardie published books with the Law of Attraction theme as one of his prevailing Universal Laws. In, The Art of True Healing: A Treatise on the Mechanism of Prayer and the Operation of the Law of Attraction in Nature (1937), he taught a focused meditation technique to help the mind to learn to heal itself on a physical and spiritual level. Regardie claimed that the Law of Attraction was a valid method for attracting good physical health and for improvement in any aspect of one's life.[63]

Amazing – this post got my attention and I have several friends that I want to send it to and generate a deeper conversation. I think The Secret has validity, but also it doesn’t work for everyone for several reasons. First: We aren’t all wired the same way – some people work intuitively and some work straight from intellect – neither right or wrong, just different wiring. Second: Our expectations in different phases of our lives are different. When we’re young, we’d love a “quick fix to get rich” and as we age – it’s just not as important because we begin to understand the price we pay for everything – whether it’s “free” or not. As Thoreau said “Everything we own, owns a piece of us” or thereby paraphrased. Third: As Ghandi said, there are seven things that wil corrupt us – one of which is “Wealth without work.” This notion of riches from the Internet or elsewhere without earning it is the Secrte gone South. The intent is to be pure of heart and yet, the focus is on money. Fourth: There is nothing wrong with earning a lot of money and also giving it back to your community, your church, your work associates, yourself – it’s just that money, in and of itself, is not the end all. Money gives you choices and that’s its beauty.

Is there any truth to “The Secret”? Is there any validity to the law of attraction? As with most other popular ideas, “The Secret” has a nugget of truth that is expanded to unbiblical and illogical extremes. For example, a thesis of the law of attraction is that our physical health is determined by our thoughts and feelings. It has been medically proven that stress and worry are harmful to the body, while joy and peace actually aid in the healing process. The Bible agrees, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” (Proverbs 17:22). “A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones” (Proverbs 15:30). As David was struggling with the guilt of his unconfessed, evil actions, he declared, “When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long” (Psalm 32:3). Our thoughts and feelings do have an impact on our physical well-being. However, this is due to how God designed our bodies…not because of our connection with a universal energy force and our negativity or positivity attracting negative or positive physical symptoms.

Just like desire, you need to have a high level of faith or belief also that your goal shall be achieved. Continuing with the previous example, it is granted that you have a strong desire to make 120,000 dollars in a year or a million dollars in a year. Now check what is your level of belief that you will actually manifest this much money in a span of one year starting 30 days from now, given the situation that currently you are making about 50,000 dollars in a year. Do you doubt that you will actually make this much amount? Do you wonder that where is all that money going to come from? In such a case, your belief may be less than 4 on 10, may be 2!
What you, Jonathan, have said about “And, the more you believe, the more likely you are to act…” is correct if you DO act, but that’s not what they mentioned in the movie; they said all you have to do is ‘visualize’ and the universe will take care of the rest!! And the funny thing is that people who believed that nonsense are much more that the unbelievers!!

Although this final step might not look that significant at first glance, it can actually do a lot to shape your manifestation potential in the future. Basically, the key thought is that you need to fully appreciate what you have once you achieve your goal. It can be easy to forget that you asked for what you received, so take proactive steps to prevent this.
