Before we begin to wish for an ideal, we must ask what that ideal is going to get when it comes. Coupled with our desire for the ideal, therefore, we must have an equally strong desire for the remaking of ourselves so that we may become equal to that ideal in every respect. If we want an ideal companion, we must not only wish for such a companion, but we must also desire the development of those qualities in ourselves that we know would make us agreeable to that companion. If we want a different environment we should wish for such an environment with all the life and soul we possess, and should at the same time wish for the increase of those powers in our own talents that can earn such an environment. If we want a better position we should desire such a position every minute and also desire that we may become more competent to fill it when it comes.
One of the best ways to invite love into your life is by sending out a Soulmate Call. A Soulmate Call is a powerful process that you can use to establish a soul-to-soul connection with your soulmate before you even meet. Both my Manifest Soulmate Love audio program and The Path to Soulmate Love course contain a guided meditation where I take you through this experience.
10) Blame Yourself: As the LOA is supposed to be a perfect, universal law, positivity should ALWAYS attract more positivity. The corollary of this is that you alone are completely responsible for any goal that was not successfully achieved, no matter how unrealistic the goal. This assumes that you not only control your thoughts and actions, but also those of everyone around you…and nature. The fact is, that you don’t. Sorry to break that to you.

At this point I should add that The Secret is not only drivel—it's pernicious drivel. The obvious question that arises from its claim that it's easy to get what you want, is: Why do so many people get what they don't want? As Byrne writes, "Imperfect thoughts are the cause of all humanity's ills, including disease, poverty, and unhappiness." Yes, according to The Secret, people don't just randomly end up being massacred, for example. They are in the wrong place because of their own lousy thinking. Cancer patients have long been victims of this school of belief. But The Secret takes it to a new and more repulsive level with its advice not just to blame people for their illness, but to shun them, lest you start being infected by their bummer thoughts, too.
If you want the universe to deliver your ideal partner, Pam Thomas, Chief Change Officer and Intuitive at What’s Within U, tells Bustle, you need to be really clear and specific on what kind of person you wish to attract. "It’s like going into a restaurant and placing an order," she says. "If you say to the waiter, 'I’ll have a meat dish with a side of vegetables,' you're leaving yourself wide open to being served cow tongue with a side of creamed spinach." Unless you're into that sort of thing, you probably won't be happy with what you get. So be specific. Ask yourself what your ideal partner and relationship really looks like to you.
And NOT EVERYTHING is your fault. As a psychologist, you should know that we have 65000 thoughts a day and most of them are not conscious. In that case how are you supposed to know that you were thinking so subconsciously? (SUBCONSCIOUS thoughts matter too!). In fact, LoA users use their subconscious mind as a great asset. The truth about the law of attraction is actually simple.
I am with you on the “Law” term and its validity, but also agree that the end result is what it is. Harkening back to days of Jesus and far before great sages have pointed out that which we can sort of innately feel to be true, that what we think about expands. I think few people would argue with that. Now, the explanation of “why” this is true, I agree is still an open debate with elements of both spiritual and neurological discussion. But for me, it doesn’t matter. Its almost like common sense that I what I think about expands, and so, I spend effort conditioning myself to think about what I want, what I’m grateful for, and changing my thoughts when I catch them harboring on something I don’t want. And that really works for me, for whatever reason…
I remember when I first saw ‘The Secret’ during our teacher training at Sonic. (What inspiring times :)! I am eternally grateful for you and Lauren for that experience.) Does it have anything to do with all this quantum physics hooplah? Honestly, I don’t know. The good thing about this law is that it makes people take 100% responsibility for their actions and their experience. It empowers people to do, be, and act from where they want to be. This creates a sense of abundance and creativity that allows them to feel more fulfilled and in the flow of things. It’s all about perception, and shifting our paradigms to those that are more pro-active and bear good fruit so that we have a more pleasurable life.
The Spiritual Explanation: Many people believe that the Law of Attraction works by aligning God or the Universe with our wishes. We are all made of energy, and our energy operates at different frequencies. We can change our frequency of energy with positive thoughts, especially gratitude for what we already have. By using grateful, positive thoughts and feelings and by focusing on our dreams — rather than our frustrations, we can change the frequency of our energy, and the law of attraction brings positive things into our lives. What we attract depends on where and how we focus our attention, but we must believe that it’s already ours, or soon will be.
Additional to reading your very helpful posts I used to do the Soul Call Guided Meditation every now and then like you suggested in this post. It helped me keep my heart open and believing in the magic of everything that can be, it made me downright excited and tingly in my heart about the future. Unfortunately it is not available anymore so I wanted to ask if it is somehow possible to have access to it again? I tried a lot of other meditations but never got even a similar feeling afterwards.
The following weeks were amazing. I literally received stacks of checks in the mail every few days. I also received a large some of money for the initial session fee for writing the song. All of the money made it possible for me to leave my boring midwestern city soon thereafter. In fact it was only 7 days after signing the contract that I put all of my things in storage, got in my car and drove away.
It starts with what the Buddhists call “Beginner’s Mind.” You begin by taking your opinions, reasons and beliefs about why you can’t or haven’t found love and you put them on a shelf for now and allow yourself to “not know” how or when or where your soulmate will appear. You surrender and trust (just for now) that everything is about to work in your favor.
When you attempt to manifest from a place of selfishness or potential harm to anyone else, you invoke the ego. The ego is always about winning, overpowering, being better than others, accumulating for the sake of feeling superior, achieving adulation or recognition, improving your status, and so on. So the secret is to feel yourself as already being and having what your desire, and to keep the entirety of it all wrapped up in a spirit of love. Always weigh your choices on the scales of love.
One client told me she got fired at the age of 43, without any savings or retirement plan. She got on a bus a few days later and overheard two people talking about renting lighting equipment for a wedding. Since she was a DJ in her 20’s, she knew people from the industry, got in touch with an old mate and they both became partners of a national lighting rental company.
Ever notice how travel magazines show a beautiful destination, maybe a white sand beach and azure blue sky? And, there is always a table and empty chair. Your mind is attracted to the empty chair. It wants you to be there. Goals are the same. The law of attraction is energised by the gap between here and there. So long as it is bridgeable (see tip 21).
I studied hypnosis for years, particularly self-hypnosis, and was always impressed with what my mind could do as long as it understood what I truly wanted. Often visualization was the best route to that. I once briefly studied with a doc who had some great success with physical and psyche issues, and he often used visualization that included what some part of the body looked or functioned like (such as the amygdala gland); that seemed like a good idea to me.
At the end of the experiment, those who imagined they were physically younger showed signs of de-aging. Blood pressure was lowered, arthritis was diminished and even eyesight and hearing in this control group improved. By simply imagining themselves younger, some physical aging was actually reversed. Their thoughts and imagination made this happen.
It's curious that people who believe in a LOA are critical of those who don't and believe them to be close-minded. I have presented a lot of new data such as the erroneous science and the data showing that acting as though you had already accomplished your goals was detrimental to you doing so. Yet, LOA proponents do not look at this with an open mind and reconsider their belief system. In this way LOA is akin to a faith-based religion, except that religious beliefs can't be disproven.
I believe in the 1960s humanity was not ready for such a figure, in the sense that he would become an idol and people would not heed his message deeply and apply it to themselves, thus stunting their evolution. This is what happened with the original Jesus, whose message to humanity, “Whoever believes in me will also do the works that I am doing; He will do even greater things than these…” mostly fell upon deaf ears.
Does this resonate with you? Did you have a tough time growing up and find that life as an adult is very difficult? Do you have trouble reacting to things, often in anger or too much sensitivity? Do you find it hard to have harmonious relationships? You are not alone, having issues with any or all of these, is actually very common. Most people can pinpoint to things that happened in their youth that caused them great pain, which they know still affects them now. It might be no exaggeration to say that we are all suffering from this at varying degrees.
Again, this should be a general plan like: finish my website in 3 months from now. Until the end of the year, I should have 5 Websites live, generating income. For the upcoming weeks it could be tasks like: 1th week – perform a market research, 2&3th week – write 20 articles, 4th week – buy hosting and design the website, 5th week – put the site live and so on and so on.
I used to do a lot of work helping people to stop smoking. There are only 2 reasons people don’t stop smoking. One, because they don’t want to (often this is subconscious) Two, because they don’t believe it’s possible. Or they assume it will be incredibly difficult and painful, and they can’t do it without suffering forever. (Again, this is often subconscious and it is a flawed assumption).
This isn’t mumbo jumbo or some pseudoscience; this is real and exact. There is a precise way to manifest virtually any amount of money into your life over time using the Law of Attraction as long as you don’t waver from your approach and your expectation of that outcome. As long as you don’t get discouraged and give up on that expected outcome, it will eventually come to pass.
To desire one thing today and another tomorrow means failure. To work for one thing this year and another thing next year is the way to empty handedness at the end of every year. Before you begin to apply the power of desire, know with a certainty what you want because when you get what you have desired, you may have to take it. If you do not know definitely what you really do want, desire a better judgment, a clearer understanding and a more balanced life. Desire to know what is best for you, and the force of that desire will tend to produce normal action in every part of your system. Then you will feel distinctly what the highest welfare of your nature actually demands. In deciding upon what you want, however, do not be timid, and do not measure the possible with the yard-stick of general appearances. Let your aspirations be high, only be sure that you are acting within the sphere of your own inherent capacity; though in this connection it is well to remember that your inherent capacity is many times as great as it has been supposed to be; and also that it can be continuously enlarged.
My personal philosophy is definitely on the mystic (Jane Roberts) side, though at one time I was a skeptic. (“You get what you concentrate upon. There is no other main rule.” Seth, session 617) When I find some other framework that actually explains even a fraction of my spontaneous personal experiences, maybe I’ll consider that instead, and I hope it’s easier to defend to my friends than some channeled entity via a middle aged poet frankly. That philosophy holds that the “belief systems” of the individual are what “construct reality”. Working in this framework has done more for me than nearly anything else in my life, so I’m tempted to say even if it’s not true, acting as-if it were, perhaps by luck, accident or corroboration with something more practical, is still a good thing.
Think about it: How many times have you had a situation happen in life that you didn’t like at the beginning, only to find out a few days, weeks, months, or years later that you grew and learned so much from it? Guess what? You attracted this experience, but in a way you might not have understood. It’s not as though you sat there and said, “Oh yay, let’s have this ‘crap’ come into my life!” Rather, at a deeper energetic level, you knew you could grow from it.
A favorite Abraham-Hicks’ quote of mine is “a belief is just a thought you keep thinking.” What does that tell us? That beliefs can and do change. But knowledge, understood as an evidence-based understanding of something, is unwavering. Well, maybe there’s more of an 80/20 rule about it. I mean, once upon a time we just knew the Earth was flat. Now, we know it’s not.
